Finished The Mermaid Chair and it was okay. It is definitely Bridges of Madison County with a little Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood thrown in for good measure. No need to rush out and get it right away - wait for the paperback, or maybe even the second hand paperback. Bought two books at the Big Corporate Bookstore as gifts and got a second for myself - Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight by Alexandra Fuller. I've been wanting to read this one for awhile.

Watched "Saved!" this evening (thank you $10 Target DVDs) and it was excellent. I loved the lead actress in "Donnie Darko" and "The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys" (where she plays against one of the other Culkin brother) - and this was no disappointment. I didn't realize that Mandy Moore was in the movie also - she makes a wonderful villain. Definitely recommend this movie - though it may offend Christians who take themselves too seriously. (My favorite part is where Moore's character throws her bible at the lead and screams "I am filled with Christ's love!")
